Advanced training in stream inspection

From 05.09. to 08.09.2022 the course “Integral Catchment Management” of the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences (BOKU) Vienna took place in the Gastein Valley, in which our colleague, Anton Pichler, participated as an external participant.
The “Vordere Rumpelgraben”, a torrent ditch on the western slope of the Stubnerkogel, as well as its catchment area and deposition area in the Angertal were examined with regard to vegetation, bedload potential, silent witnesses, signs of movements (incipient cracks, landslides) and erosion, etc., and considerations were made for possible, appropriate safety measures.
In addition, a possible improvement of the existing conditions through reforestation measures was discussed and wildwood potential and potential solid foci were discussed.
