In words

Comprehensive project processing – creation of the engineering-geological basics as well as project planning of suitable protection measures according to the project

  • Engineering geological survey of the fundamentals on site
  • Execution of stability verifications
  • Implementation of computer-aided rockfall protection simulations (2D and 3D)
  • Project planning of primary protection
  • Project planning of secondary protection (e.g. rockfall protection fences)
  • Supervision and monitoring of construction measures on site
  • Control and assessment of existing objects

Rock and boulder falls pose a high risk to people and infrastructure in alpine terrain. Technical measures are required to minimize this risk so that traffic routes and settlement areas can continue to be used. A distinction is made between primary protection systems, such as single boulder protection systems and secondary protection systems. Primary protection is intended to prevent the detachment of individual fissure bodies or entire rock slopes. If primary protection is not economical because of the required extent, secondary systems are erected to reduce the risk of rockfall. These are usually rockfall protection fences and rockfall protection dams.
