Wüstenrot Salzburg

The Salzburg headquarters of Wüstenrot AG on Alpenstraße was to be extended by a 6-story building (including basement with underground parking). This required a partial demolition of the old building. Since the planned underground car park partially reached the existing buildings and was also to be connected to them, underpinning measures were necessary. Due to the shallow groundwater fluctuation range between 2.5 and 4.5 m below ground level, the excavation pit had to be tightly enclosed for dewatering. For this purpose, a combination of sheet piling and DSV lamellas was used. In order not to create a groundwater barrier, the sheet piles were pulled out again in the final state. For control and supervision of the construction measures, the client commissioned us to act as geological/geotechnical site supervisors.
