Landfill Schönau am Königssee

In the course of the remediation investigation concerning the old deposit “Rennermoos”, in the municipal area of Schönau am Königssee (Bavaria), our office was commissioned with the investigation and verification of the slope stability of the northern slope towards Ramsauer Ache. Since the existing slope geometry did not provide the required safety against slope failure, a slope stabilization was necessary. For the stabilization, we planned a supporting body in the form of reinforced earth in front of the embankment, which was to be secured at the base of the embankment with a nail horizon, depending on the subsoil conditions. Our work also included the proposal of possible sealing measures to prevent water from entering the old deposit.

After the execution of the securing measures was postponed, we are currently in charge of the metrological monitoring of the landfill area. This included the inspection of the existing geotechnical measuring points including a technical report on their repair.
